Le Prix Cineuro est lancé

CinEuro Award for the development of cross-border co-productionsCinEuro Award for the development of cross-border co-productions

CinEuro is a cross-border network of almost 40 organisations in charge of supporting the film and audiovisual industry in France, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium. From 2023 onwards, the CinEuro partners wish to support the development of co-productions based on stories linked to the partner territories.

To this end, the Région Grand Est, the Film Fund Luxembourg, the Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg, the Saarland Medien GmbH, the Ministerium für Familie, Frauen, Kultur und Integration Rheinland-Pfalz, Wallimage, screen.brussels, Wallonie-Bruxelles International and the Ministerium der Deutschsprachigen Gemeinschaft Belgiens are jointly launching the CinEuro Award.

Which projects?

The aim of this prize is to encourage the emergence of projects dealing with stories, characters or settings that bear witness to the links between the partner territories in all their dimensions (economic, political, geographical, societal, cultural, etc.).

It aims to encourage new ways of looking at well-identified subjects (steel industry, wars, migratory movements, etc.), but also at themes that have not been dealt with or have been little dealt with to date (the mysteries of European institutions, various events, local imaginary, societal or natural phenomena, etc.), whether they are inspired by physical realities (landscapes, buildings, infrastructures), historical facts (personalities, events, etc.) or current events.

Its objective is to enable filmmakers to explore and unveil the field of possibilities of these themes and to appropriate the artistic and intellectual contribution of a cross-border narrative perspective, in order to contribute to the development of a true signature of the CinEuro space and to reinforce its visibility in European and international cinema.
