Camille was adopted when she was 7 years old. She has no memories of her past. This emptiness haunts her: where did she come from? Who is she? Camille feels out of place wherever she is. She has the impression that she is always out of step with the world and with others. And this is not surprising: at thirteen, she is accidentally transported to another world called Gwendalavir and understands that this is where she comes from. Here she is called Ewilan. The girl feels like she has been reborn. With her friend Salim, who does not hesitate for a second to follow her, Camille/Ewilan sets out to explore this universe that is as wondrous as it is threatening. She hopes to discover her origins and finally understand who she is. But meeting the general of the Imperial Army, Edwin Til'Illan, taints the two teens' enthusiasm. The soldier recognizes Ewilan as the child of his best friends, who mysteriously disappeared seven years ago. Because of this, can she not count on a reunion of her family?
