Synopsis
Mirroring our post #Me Too era, the film tells the little-known story of the women's emancipation movements of the 1970s in Belgium. Through the impertinent actions of Dolle Mina in Flanders, the support for the Marie Mineur workers in Wallonia and the new film by Chantal Akerman, a 25-year-old from Brussels who was to revolutionise the cinema, our feminine heritage is sketched out with humour and insolence. The images of these battles and the encounters with the women who led them shed light on the road we still have to travel to achieve full gender equality in law and in practice.
