A documentary divided into three 52-minute episodes and one feature film, 'Archibelge' is an exploration of Belgian architecture through three of its most incongruous pillars: Brussels urbanisation, the odd Walloon propensity to build near motorways and the no less singular (and exasperating for many) habit of using concrete up and down the Belgian coast. Three chapters, three pillars, three eras, three ways of comprehending a complex country. Through architecture, the authors of the story build a formidable sociological analysis of Belgium that amuses, intrigues and impassions. This project is produced by Playtime and Offworld, which have already presented the series Red Star Line, one of the true documentary successes of the past years.
