Nico Forero

Description

Nico Forero is a filmmaker from Colombia. After graduating with a bachelor degree in Communication studies, in Bogotá, he worked as a cinematographer and researcher on a cultural TV program tackling stories related to environment, conflict and public health. Later he made a series of short documentaries about disability Teletón Colombia across the country. During that time, he also worked for UNHCR and OXFAM in Colombia, Panama, Venezuela and Ecuador. In 2012 he took part in documentaries for Channel 4 and NatGeo in the UK. Then he studied Digital Media at TAFE Institute in Australia where he was awarded as the international student of the year 2016. Afterwards he was selected as part of the DOCNOMADS program, a master degree course in documentary film directing given by the Universidad Lusófona de Tecnologias y Humanidades in Portugal, the National University of theatre and film in Hungary and the LUCA school of arts in Belgium. More recently, he directed one episode of the documentary series T(w)o Work for the National Belgian broadcaster VTR Canvas.
