My passion for film started from a young age to escape the reality. I like to tell human stories that touch the importance of ethics, society and culture. Creating tales that reflect unknown worlds of reality.
Liesbeth De Mey studied audiovisual arts(directing) in documentary(master) at RITCS in Brussels. After she worked in many short film and feature productions in different positions from assistent director to script supervisor, logger and casting assistent. Then she start her career as a freelance film teacher to children at JEF vzw, videographer and editor which she combines to create her own projects. She is currently writing her first fiction series. She followed several workshops on script writing, (children) documentary filmmaking and editing. In 2019 she collaborated with director Sameh Alaa to his palm d'or winning short film "I am afraid to forget your face" as a script consultant. She is part of the screenwriters guild society in Belgium since 2021.
