IRDECOF, Institute for the R&D of European Cultures, Gender, Languages, Computing & Audiovisual Projects (1989-2024).
IRDECOF was set up mid-1989 by Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Yves Bessières & PhD Patricia Niedzwiecki.
Its main objectives are the implementation of European pionier projects.
Since the turn of the century and 3rd millenium, the audiovisual WW2 Heritage Project ‘The Gaps Of Memory Project’ has been developed through implementing the eponymous film collection about the spirit of Resistance in 1939-45. This ambitious Project also encompasses exclusive testimonies of active Resistance fighters and survivors, and contains unique photographic funds or documents shown in the films which are being released in theaters and on television every year.
But IRDECOF, which is located in a beautiful state historic building also organizes classes, studies and research on gender, one of IRDECOF’s specialty fields.
Audiovisual programs, concerts, shows and book publishing are also on IRDECOF's daily schedule.
