Charles De Meyer, aka Chuck Eklectric, is a VFX artist, filmmaker, and musician based in Brussels. Since the early 00s, he works in VFX for feature film and commercials, and as a music video director, also collaborating with other visual artists, sculpting, and composing music.
As a visual and VFX artist, Charles has contributed to numerous ad campaigns, feature films, series and animated short films, in multiple positions: VFX supervisor, previz animator, layout supervisor, 3D generalist... In fiction he has worked among others on Belgian series LOST LUGGAGE, Saverio Costanzo's L'AMICA GENIALE or Danish WWII drama SHADOW IN MY EYE. His advertising credits include companies like Proximus, Base, Mercedes-Benz, Fluxys or Studio Brussel,
As a director, Chuck pours in his work a singular vision, often VFX or SFX-infused, and a unique musicality. His music videos have been praised by personal heroes and fellow directors like Mark ROMANEK or Ian PONS JEWEL, and achieved numerous industry nods, amongst which twice ‘Best European Music Video’ at Cannes’ Young Director’s Awards (Shots), multiple Vimeo Staff Picks, and top nominations at the UK MVAs 2019 (‘Best Visual Effects’ and ‘Best Alternative Video – Newcomer’ for AMON TOBIN's "Vipers Follow You") and MTV Video Music Awards 2022, where his work for SHINEDOWN was competing in the ‘Best Rock’ category alongside videos for Foo Fighters, Muse or the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
