This year, the SACD, the Centre du Cinéma et de l'Audiovisuel (CCA), Orange Belgium and screen.brussels are delighted to welcome Be.tv as a new partner in the call for projects. This partnership was born of a shared vision and ambition: to work together to consolidate support for authors, encourage greater diversity of genres in Belgian French-language cinema and broaden its audience to a wider and more diverse public.
Since its launch in 2019, the initiative has aimed to encourage the writing of ambitious and varied projects, with calls for projects focusing on:
- Films written by women;
- Second films;
- Films aimed at family audiences;
- Authors' views on genre films ;
- Comedy films.
For the third year running, the call for projects has focused on comedy projects, in view of the ever-increasing success of this film genre and the needs it meets.
With a budget of €60,000, 4 feature-length fiction or animation projects by male and female authors were supported. Each received a €15,000 grant.
Le jury
The 2024 jury was composed of :
- Zahra Benasri (International Film Sales, Hors du bocal)
- Matthieu Donck (writer, director)
- Tatjana Kozar (producer at Versus)
- Xavier Seron (writer, director)
Representatives of the various partners were also present to witness the selection of projects. As a reminder, all the projects submitted were anonymised, and it was on this basis that the jury made its selection.

We would also like to congratulate all the authors who responded to this call. With 99 proposals for feature-length comedy films received, the quality and enthusiasm shown this year has encouraged us to reveal the theme of the 2025 call for projects!
We are delighted to announce that genre films will be given pride of place in the next call for writing grants.
These writing grants are a unique opportunity in the French-speaking Belgian audiovisual landscape. The SACD, and the Scam for the documentary grants, are proud and happy to continue this rewarding collaboration with Orange Belgium, the Centre du Cinéma et de l'Audiovisuel de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, screen.brussels and Be.tv.
