About us
Since May 2016, The Brussels-Capital Region has set up screen.brussels, the audio-visual solution bringing all the regional support services for the audio-visual industry together. It provides logistic support for filming, funding - 3M€/year - for classic and/or innovative media productions, support for companies and help to their internationalization, and structural financing for local companies.
Film financing: Our producers are living and breathing international co-productions, being based in a multilingual/multicultural environment. They will help you build up your project and navigate between the various sources of funding (Tax Shelter, economic and cultural funds, European funds) as well as finding the right partner. After all, they are the kings of coproduction. And queens, of course.
Brussels VR ecosystem: The digital and creative economy is one of Brussels priorities for economic growth. We operate at the forefront of innovation, particularly in terms of Virtual Reality and technological audio-visual solutions. The Brussels ecosystem counts number of companies (producers and service providers) specialized in those fields. State of the art companies like Nexus, Nozon, Demute, The Fridge (e.g.) have been co-producing and exporting their know-how internationally. Broadcasting locations and festivals are multiplying in Brussels too. In a nutshell, you can find multiple dedicated funding opportunities, experienced producers and state-of-the-art technicians in Brussels. You will not believe your Headset!
Speaker: Marine Haverland: Audiovisual advisor New media / Gaming / VR, screen.brussels cluster.
Film in Brussels: In addition to being an international metropolis (European Union, NATO...), the city has a unique historical and architectural heritage to bid as well as an unexpectedly wide range of parks, forests and lakes… Our team is dedicated to assist you in the analyses of the feasibility of filming projects, issues permits, forwards parking space reservations, scouts for sets and locations... and, last but not least, to support sustainable initiatives. As Queen of film locations, Brussels can only surprise you.
