Pierpaolo Filomeno is an Italian film editor based in Brussels, with nearly a decade of experience in the film industry.
He has worked on several international documentary feature films as well as fiction films from a variety of countries.
Among the others, he edited the documentaries Love is not an orange by Otilia Babara (premiered at DOK Leipzig 2022) and No Kings by Emilia Mello (premiered at CPH:DOX 2020). Both films were selected and awarded at many film festivals worldwide, including Visions du Réel, Jihlava, True/False, London Film Week. Both films were also invited to the prestigious MoMA Doc Fortnight in New York, in 2022 and 2023.
He also edited the documentaries La Restanza by Alessandra Coppola (premiered at Torino Film Festival 2021), Jump Out by Nika Šaravanja (premiered at Fipadoc 2024) and Vergot by Cecilia Bozza Wolf (premiered at Festival dei Popoli 2016). For Vergot he received the Best Editing award at the Italian Academy of Documentary (Doc/it Awards 2017).
Earlier in his career, he collaborated with renowned film editor Marie-Hélène Dozo as an assistant and second editor on both fiction and documentary films, including What You Gonna Do When The World Is On Fire? by Roberto Minervini (Mostra del Cinema di Venezia 2018) and God Exists, Her Name Is Petrunija by Teona Strugar Mitevska (Berlinale 2019).
Since 2021 he has co-hostsed Editors Anonymous - Montatori Anonimi, a podcast about film editing.
