De Wereldvrede

Description

De Wereldvrede is a creative production company founded in 2013 by Gilles De Schryver and Gilles Coulier with the objective of producing premium content. Both partners were already active in the audio-visual world, with different backgrounds, but with a common vision on how to produce fiction.

In 2015 his duo joined forces with Wouter Sap’s Lionheart Productions in a joint venture, and form an artistic business collective that produces fiction and documentaries.

De Wereldvrede started off with producing several shorts and the highly anticipated fiction series ‘The Natives’, broadcasted in 2015 on Canvas. The series was a big success, both in ratings and appreciation. In 2017 De Wereldvrede completed ‘Cargo’, the first feature of Gilles Coulier. It was selected for the TorinoFilmLab Script & Pitch and was released in September 2017. In 2019 De Wereldvrede released the premium television series: ‘War of the Worlds’ for Fox Europe & Africa and Canal+, followed by the production of another premium tv series, ‘Albatros’, directed by Wannes Destoop and set to be released in 2021 for the main Belgian public broadcaster. Their last short film 'Stephanie' by Leonardo Van Dijl was selected in 2020 for the Official Competition in Cannes and continues to travel abroad to the International Filmfestivals.

In the summer of 2020 De Wereldvrede produced, in collaboration with Lecter Scripted Media, a short film series called 'Lockdown', which consists of 12 short films directed by 12 different directors and shot by 12 different DOP's. The series will have its International Premiere at Filmfestival Oostende in January 2021 and will be released on television (Eén) in spring of 2021. A myriad of other film and tv projects are currently in development and will be released the upcoming years.
