From Russian origins, Boris Baum grew up in India, Spain and France. He released his first feature film Hot Coals in France which was graded as one of the 30 most profitable films of the year. In 2015 he founded the Belgian production company Les Films de La Récré. In 2016 he produced the documentary film Damascus directed by Syrian director Myrna Nabhan, Julian by Belgian director Maxime Fauconnier and Bula which he also directed.
In 2017 producer Boris Baum was one of two Belgian producers selected for the Rotterdam Producer's Lab. The same year he participate to the Cannes Producers Network and signed a distribution deal for Bula with Alfama Filmes.
In September 2017 he shot the 2nd part of Bula in Brazil with Fronteira Filmes as co-producers. (Producers Lab participant) and is now post-producing the film in the company studio in Brussels.
In 2018 he was invited by the Rotterdam Producer’s Lab as a speaker to talk about his experience on producing Bula with Brazil.
