SERIES’ WOMEN is the first career enhancement program for female producers in the European drama series industry. Candidates may apply until 19 September, to take part to the program that will run from November 2022 to March 2023.

This Tuesday 30 August begins the sixth edition of the BIF Market the meeting of professionals from the audiovisual sector during the International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFF). The BIFF presents more than 90 feature films from 5 continents and more than 100 short films. The genre film market offers a variety of convivial events such as workshops and networking.

A call for projects is open for the 3rd edition of PiTCH. The event will take place from June 24 to 28, 2022, during the Brussels International Film Festival.
Do you have an idea for a feature film or do you want to pitch in front of an audience of professionals? This is your opportunity. This will help accelerate the decision making process and the production of your feature film projects in the Walloon-Brussels Federation, as well as putting the authors in contact with potential decision makers such as producers, broadcasters or distributors.

The Brussels Co-Production Market is an initiative that aims at supporting promising feature films in development and connecting them with potential partners. Created in 2016 with a focus on helping European producers with finding Belgian minority co-productions, it has been divided in two different sections:Gap financing sessions and Up-&-Coming Producers.
From 17 to 28 May will the Festival de Cannes celebrate the Cinema for this 2022 edition. Once again, several projects supported by screen.brussels will make the talents #madeinbrussels shine in various competitions: artists, directors, actors, crew and producers. VKRS (Video Killed the Radio Star) is the combination of music and video in one event! Bands often need a video to promote their music, but the video is much more than a broadcast medium. It is an art form in its own, right! And its artists deserve to be highlighted and recognised! There will be lots of clips, prizes will be awarded, professionals will mingle, there will be concerts, dancing all night, masterclasses with hangovers, and video teams will take up the Speed-Clipping challenge: making a clip in three days!
For more than a year we have been living in a world turned upside down by a global health crisis. With the help of our speakers*, we will dissect the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis on the Belgian French-speaking audiovisual sector. How has this crisis affected a whole section of our society and economy? Does it play a role in aggravating the problems intrinsic to this sector?
The 5th edition of the BIF Market, a genre film market, will be held online with some 210 participants of 38 different nationalities and 25 work in progress from 18 countries.

Every year, the Anima festival offers a fine showcase for one of the flagships of Belgian know-how, animation. In 2021, we are celebrating its 40th edition, which is a bit special. Futuranima, the professional section of the event, maintains its willingness to promote exchange approaches, particularly around current themes, new initiatives, the work of studios and filmmakers, and all this through presentations, question and answer sessions, master classes and round tables. All this, virtually of course.
The cultural agency Grand Est is organising a videoconference on cross-border filming between Grand Est, Belgium, Luxembourg, Saarland & Rhineland-Palatinate. This workshop takes place in the context of CinEuro Grande Région, an Interreg programme supported by the Grand Est Region.
How can we reinvent the media and cultural sector in today's society? Under the slogan 'Ctrl Act Del', the VRT and the Flemish Department of Culture, Youth and Media invite you to get inspired and collaborate on current challenges during Media & Culture Fast Forward on 14, 15 and 16 December.

Series Mania, the 100% series festival, has been attracting the general public and sector professionals every year since 2010. More than 55,000 visitors registered in 2018. For the second time, the Festival is coming to Lille, only 30 minutes from Brussels. As well as numerous free events taking place all over the city over nine days, Series Mania is also devoting three days to professionals only, from 25 to 27 March.
For the first time, the Mifa will support producers of feature films in their final phase of development or production, with at least 85% of their budget already secured, by giving them the opportunity of finding new partners during dedicated meetings.

From zombies to haunted houses, virtual reality has opened the door to a new theater of terror. This year for the first time VR genre films are presented at the BIFFF. For that occasion, BIFFF and screen.brussels team up to present a masterclass dedicated to VR genre content. This masterclass will gather directors, producers and post-producers who will talk about their works and their vision on how VR is a good medium for genre contents.
From 4 to 6 April, the BIF Market for genre cinema professionals will be taking place as part of the 36th Brussels Fantastic Film Festival. An event enjoying global renown, the BIF market attracts professionals from all four corners of the ‘fantastic’ planet. And in a new feature this year, there will be a ‘Work in Progress Market’ where foreign producers can come and showcase their nascent projects…, in the hope of sealing deals for them in Belgium and thus benefiting from our post-production expertise.

Vorhaus a étudié à la Carnegie-Mellon University, est membre de la Writers Guild of America et enseigne l’écriture à la Northwestern University et à l’American Film Institute.
From 22 to 25 August, Gamescom, the annual gaming trade show, will be held in Cologne. For video game developers, this trade show is a unique opportunity to get themselves known, both within the industry and with the general public.
