To pull her son out of the violence and no longer able to watch idly by as he slowly disconnects, Sybille, 45, takes Samuel, 18, on a horseback crossing of Kyrgyzstan. From huge empty steppes to snowy plateaux, mother and son are confronted by the raw, hostile and magnificent nature. Without a guide and on their own, they must find something to continue their journey every day. Despite the beauty of the crossing, Sam remains closed and distant. Only Starman, his horse, seems to have access to his tenderness. But thanks to his mother's struggle, the fight with the elements, and meeting Kyrgyz people, he will discover himself as well as this sometimes clumsy often stubborn woman who never gives up. With Sybille, he will learn to go towards others and continue to do so to not give up on himself.
